Product Description: Kindel Furniture - 88-085 - Draper Café Armchair - Dorothy Draper designed the original of this chair in 1945 for the Café and rooms at The Greenbrier Hotel in West Virginia. The swirling lines of the back splat, the French inspired cabriole legs and curved lines of the side rails evoke the glamour of the times. The chair is available in wood or painted finishes. Spring seat construction is standard.

Her work on behalf of such institutions as New York's Hampshire House, The Carlyle, San Francisco's Mark Hopkins Hotel, Hollywood's Arrowhead Springs Hotel and West Virginia's Greenbrier Hotel exemplified her as a pioneering businesswoman and the most famous decorator of the 1930s and 40s. She invented Modern Baroque with oversize plaster work and dramatic use of vibrant color.
