Fine Rugs

Our designers are on hand to help with your selection. Although there are no hard and fast rules, here are some tips to steer you towards the perfect rug.

For living rooms, sofa and room size dictate the size of a rug. 5’x8′ rugs fit smaller rooms with small scale sofas. Increase to 6’x9′ rugs if sofa is 90″.

Selecting the perfect rug for larger rooms.

Larger rooms with 86″ to 100″ sofas need an 8’x10′ rug. If there is a 100″ to 136″ sofa or sectional, a 9’x12′ or 10’x14′ rug might be best.

Selecting the perfect rug for dining rooms

Dining rooms are a little trickier. The size of your room and dining table must be taken into account. Ideally, leave 18″ of open space between a rug and wall. And on all sides allow 24″ of rug between edge of table and edge of rug.
