Product Description: Baker - BA8642 - Atelier Dining Side Chair - Thomas Pheasant conceived the Atelier series as a more lightly scaled and tightly upholstered look. The frame takes a more prominent role, and the upholstered backs are recessed. The legs are flared in the neoclassic tradition. Where the upholstery meets the wood frame, the cushion actually extends over the top to create a cap of sorts. That makes the construction part of the visual appeal-like a complex joint Baker might use on a large cabinet. As a design element, each item also has a distinctive ribbed Bronze finger pull. The crisp neoclassical look of the Atelier Side Chair allows its demeanor to change with the fabric. The legs are capped by an edited nail trim detail that can be either traditional or modern. The pitch, related geometry, and support have been designed to offer the comfort expected of Baker.

  Collection Features: Thomas Pheasant develops the idea of a largely weltless modern silhouette with a prominently framed back. The look of the cushions, depth, and pitch all convey comfort, and there is a slightly relaxed softness about it. Visually, the kidney pillows add a horizontal break. Converging slope arms meet the base through a deeply cut scallop detail revealing, but still neatly holding, the cushion. Tapered legs, with petite nail head trim at the top, add refinement. This version of the Max Chair has a low tight back, and a slightly more modern feeling. The footprint is economical, and it would go almost anywhere in the home. Many owners will use it in pairs.
