Dean Hines - International Sales, Hickory, NC

Dean Hines has returned to his roots by joining the team at Good’s Home Furnishings. A Hickory native, Dean started his furniture career in the factory at Hickory Chair at the age of 18. Along the way he also earned a college scholarship from Century Furniture in a furniture production and management program. Dean has experience in every facet of furniture design and construction. Today, he specializes in corporate and international sales. From Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait to Switzerland and other parts of Europe, Dean is adept at coordinating sales around the world. Jackie moved to Hickory from Orange County, NY, in 1999 with her sons Brian, Tyler and Nicholas and dog, Buster. Kathryn Szelazek is a recent graduate of The Art Institute of Charlotte with an Associate’s degree in Interior Design. Although she is new to Good’s, she is no stranger to work. As a military wife and mother of two young boys, she successfully juggled school, home and career for several years. It’s that same multi-tasking spirit that makes Kathryn a great salesperson. “I love helping my clients find a solution that works for them. Ask me anything! Alex Thompson is a young designer with a great deal of skill and enthusiasm for her craft. A recent graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in industrial design, Alex has a strong passion for learning everything about furniture and applying her skill as a designer to craft spaces that delight. A Hickory native, Alex grew up in the furniture business surrounded by family in the industry. Her primary focus is design, but she also enjoys painting, photography, spending time outdoors and traveling with her dog, Abby. Chilton Jarrett - Sales/Design, Hickory, NC

Chilton Jarrett brings a wealth of knowledge to her customers in the Internet department. Before joining the team at Good’s, she workedat several major furniture retailers for seven years, gaining expertise and understanding of furniture and design. A graduate of NC State University, Chilton is an avid Wolfpack and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She and her husband live in Valdese with their two dogs and two cats. Ramsay Ramsay Cabot has never lost her enthusiasm for fine furniture. This North Carolina native now lives in Valdese and enjoys spending time with her two adult children, Ted and Chilton. Erika Rhoney - Sales/Design, Hickory, NC

Erika Rhoney loves design, fabrics, fringes and frames. A native of Catawba County, Erika grew up in the furniture industry watching her father, who worked with some of the oldest and finest furniture manufacturers in the business. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in interior design from UNC-Greensboro, she charted her own course in the industry, where she’s been making an impact for two decades. “I have varied experience in design that includes residential and commercial cabinetry, product design in the pet industry and my true passion – helping people make their vision come true in their home. It’s important for me to assist my customers in making educated decisions so they feel comfortable knowing they are getting quality and value.” She also makes sure her customers are able to express their own personality through the choices they select. Melissa Davidson - Sales/Design, Hickory, NC

For Melissa Davidson, beautiful furniture is a family affair. She grew up in the Hickory area surrounded by family members who made their living creating upholstery, helping her understand and appreciate all the work that goes into a locally-made sofa or chair. Shana Bretzius began her working life in the newspaper business. At Freedom Communications, Shana developed a company-wide customer service training program, implemented coast to coast. She launched into design because of her love of people and fine furniture. Shana worked as a design consultant with a large, upscale retailer in the Hickory market and has been recognized as a top writer for Thomasville. Today, she is proud to lead the dynamic team at Good’s in Pineville. “I am a great listener and want people to love their furniture, their experience and the value they receive. Larry Bell - Assistant Manager, Pineville, NC

Larry W. Bell has spent the majority of his career in the home furnishings industry and is experienced in interior design as well as educating consumers on brands and quality construction. He worked more than 30 years as a general sales manager and buyer for Willis Wayside Furniture in Virginia Beach, and later filled a similar role as a buyer for The North Carolina Companies in Virginia Beach and Richmond. Larry has a lot of expertise, but his two specialties at Good’s are finding your perfect sleep system and helping you select just the right rug. “I enjoy helping my customers make the right decision and find furniture that will give them a better quality of life, whether it’s a sleep system or an Ekornes chair.” He and his wife, Betty, are award winning mosaic artists and reside in Rock Hill, S.C., with their Welsh Corgi Tanq “Tank”.

Jimmy Jackson - Customer Care and Showroom Lighting

Jimmy is a guru when it comes to showroom setup and lighting. At Good’s, he makes sure that the furniture and accessories we place in our gallery are shown in their best possible light. During his 8 years with a major retailer, Jimmy oversaw the staging of more than two dozen stores across the Southeast. Along the way, he has learned how lighting and proper placement of art can enhance a space and help buyers envision pieces in their own home. As a Catawba County native, he has a passion for the furniture at Good’s and the people who build it. When he’s not making Good’s more beautiful, Jimmy enjoys golfing, fishing, camping and of course, the Carolina Tarheels..

Melody Morris - Sales/Design, Pineville, NC

Melody Morris loves great furniture and the excitement a customer feels when their home is beautiful and unique. A mother of three grown sons, Melody has worked in design for more than 20 years in the greater Charlotte area with Boyles, Craig Furniture and Sally Stowe Interiors. Along the way, she has learned great ways to help her clients be stylish and practical. “I enjoy working closely with clients and helping them design each room of their home,” says Melody. “My hope as a designer is to help my clients make their home comfortable as well as beautiful.” When she’s not at work, Melody and her husband, Norm, enjoy golf and spending time with family and friends.

Jason Freeman brings 15 years of furniture expertise to his career at Good’s. A Pinnacle Award winner at Thomasville, Jason enjoys working on projects large and small. Gena Gray has returned to her roots in Lake Wylie, and is excited to bring her design knowledge to the Charlotte region. During her career, Gena has served as a manufacturers’ representative, interior designer in commercial office sales and a residential designer with Southeastern Galleries in Charleston, S.C. Her varied experience gives her a special knowledge of designing commercial and residential work spaces and creating high-end style that reflects the unique personalities of the people who live there. “Color and space are very important to me and I know how they can influence the way a customer feels in her environment,” says Gena. “I am not satisfied until my client is truly wowed. Michelle Trizzino - Sales/Design, Pineville, NC

Michelle Trizzino is passionate about learning and helping her customers find answers that help them enjoy their house as a home. Michelle’s experience includes two years with Drexel Heritage and four years at Thomasville, where she was recognized as a top writer. Marilyn Cherry has a contagious spirit and a tremendous amount of design knowledge. An independent designer for more than a decade, Marilyn is comfortable with large and small projects and understands all of the details that contribute to great design.
